Focused on a select group of teachers and their students (scheduling needs to be fleshed out)
selected teachers would have priority access to a group of computers, however there should be some sort of rotating schedule or people "apply" to get the access showing their commitment.
They need to produce an end product proving what they've done with their kids.
issues with people feeling left out, not the chosen ones
how to approach for the elementary levels and middle school levels - middle school 4 teachers each get 25 computers that stay in their room and they can use it with multiple classes - elementary - COW? or split up the pot across a grade level, like 5 computers in each grade 3 classroom and use them for centers.
needs to be offered to everyone, people apply if they want to...there will be future opportunities for teachers to get access to technology if they don't get it the first year
Covering key grade levels (3rd grade can share down, 4th grade a good transition year, two core subjects in 5 & 6, two different core subjects in 7&8 - Bob suggests)
Finite set of hardware resources
the assumption is that people who get the new computers get to keep them, then people who didn't get them the first year, would get them the next year
HOW MANY COMPUTERS???? - sounds like 150
Use expert support along with in-house expertise to work with first set of teachers and students
First group will provide turnkey support in second phase of PD plan

PD considerations with regard to PD Plan 2010-11
Technology integration becomes one of the primary school goals for the year.
How does the technology PD Plan connect with the district PD Plan? Is it completely separate? It needs to get folded into the district plan.
Bob says Dr. Rinko has suggested that there be specific dollars allotted to PD for Technology. Bob suggests that there be a stipend for the focus group of teachers who get the computers. There must be a product - student products, teacher reflections
AB needs to find out what level of detail is required for the district PD plan, in terms of being able to integrate the technology piece into the 2010-11 district plan. If only a narrative is required, then we will probably be ready to include this stuff into the district plan.
